'09 Bengals - What did you think?

Welcome to the season. What did you think? I thought the 1s looked really good...Slim was on fire. Seemed really undisciplined though...too many penalties. Overall, was pleased. Crocker started where he left off...

I agree! The first team D looks great. M. Johnson got a lot of snaps. He should get better as he gains experience. I wish they would've pulled Henry a little sooner. I want to see the young WR's get a good look. B. Scott did show he has some serious potential. I can't wait to see him get loose. Benson was as strong as he finished last season.

Yeah...too many penalties - I'm sure they will get better as they start to gel together. Hard Knocks gives us a good look at how tuff Marvin can be on player screw ups. JT looked a little weird at first, but made some good throws and settled down later.

Overall, I love the D! Can't wait to add Cinco Ocho to the mix. I would love to see more blitz packages. The first team O had a couple good drives that were ruined by turnovers. I'm pleased with the overall protection for Carson.

And....I know this will not be popular, but I'm happy they made the first offer to Vick of 2.3 for 2 yrs. The Bengals wildcat would have put some pressure on the Steelers and Ravens D's. It was a good try!

Overall I was content with the Bengals performance, but we need to cut down on turnovers and prevent big plays. I'm not worried though we will get better as the preseason moves forward and will be all set for the season.

I went all the way up to Dayton to watch the game on Channel 12. (OK I had other reasons for being in Dayton...) Is there a way to watch the games from down here?

I loved Bernard Scott. He reminded me of James Brooks. Very encouraging. I have writing on a blog for Courtney's brother www.bengalstripes.com. Check it out and you guys will see that I agree with all of your points, even the one about Vick!
